Unsettled weather with fast moving storms and high winds lead to a decision to lower our ambitions for today. I had my sights set on an unnamed peak between the Middle Fork of the Teton and the South Fork of Waldron. The ascent ridge is long and exposed and appears that it could be difficult in some sections. Not a wise choice for the weather this day. Instead David Shuler, Denise Grabowski and I went up the Lonesome Ridge trail and walked up to the summit to the east of the pass. I find all of the summits in this area to be interesting, especially when one is perched on an over thrust formation, sheltered from the wind, looking down a shear cliff some hundreds of feet. Pretty cool! This vantage point also afforded a good view of the overnight backpack trip that Denise and I would do the next two days. Link for photos from the trip. Thanks to David for putting these together.
