Write Up:
April is unpredictable. We ran into some snow on the last bit of the drive and there was a brief delay. David Schuler got to show off his new jeep and pulled Jason out of the snow. The weather was great. We got clear blue skies all day. We first hiked up to North Peak. The day got more interesting from there. From North we traversed the ridge over to Middle Peak and crossed a very large snowfield. There were a number of crotch deep holes. We did reach grass again and with some effort we got up to the second peak. We unloaded our packs and sat down for lunch. I let this enjoyment last for a little while before i broke out the whip. The group groaned as I pushed them on. I shouted orders and had teams of hikers breaking snow for me. There were no longer fields of snow, there was just snow. We crawled and swam our way to South Peak. There was talk of snowshoes at the trailhead, but I shut that down real quick. I said this is training for the upcoming summer. I want you all to climb these mountains by the honest sweat of your brow.
