Write Up:
Our group consisting of Craig Parmelee, Marc Ardito, Doug Thorsen, Elizabeth Mack, , Tim Anderson, Patrick Dryden, Rodney Falkenberg, Stacey and David Endebrock met at the Cut bank Campground. We all piled into Craig's truck and drove to the parking area at the Ranger Station. We were heading u the boundary line trail by 8am. The Cut bank creek was low but most of us still used our water shoes to cross, several opted to leave their shoes at the creek because the plan was to return the same route..... After a little bushwhacking we broke out onto the Cut bank Ridge. A band of horses gave us a good show as they ran and pranced across the open grassy ridge. The climb to the Mad Wolf ridge was straightforward. Once on the ridge we were greeted by a very stiff wind which kept us dry and holding tight to all of our belongings the entire day. We enjoyed first lunch and then headed to the summit of Mad wolf for second lunch. The walk on the ridge to Eagle Plume was easy and gorgeous. A fun scramble to the second summit and another snack and photo op. Down to the saddle between Eagle Plume and Bad Marriage and up again to third summit. Descending involved scree runs, a steep gully and another short bushwhack to the upper waterfall. Refreshing cool off and pumping lots of water. It took much longer than planned to find the out by the falls. W voted to take the boundary trail out in hopes of saving time saved. We were out before dark, tired, thirsty, hungry with 6000ft of elevation gain, 16 miles and three summits to our credit.
